Introducing Golden Girls – Twinkle Khanna's debut as an interviewer
In this episode, look out for Vidya Balan’s Sophie’s Choice moment – Enrique Iglesias’s concert or Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s call
Powerful women who are unafraid to own their space, the world desperately needs more of them. From running international NGOs to entertaining us for decades, these women have been firebrand agents of change, and they have no plans of stopping. With our video series, Golden Girls, Twinkle Khanna makes her debut as an interviewer hosting some of the funniest and most endearing conversations ever.
There’s no rocket science involved here. It’s just two like-minded people having a cup of tea or cake-tasting or dining together while spilling the tea (pun not intended) and catching up. Golden Girls began as an idea to turn the spotlight onto the women of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s who shattered glass ceilings and paved new inroads for women across performing arts, science, culture and industry. But we realised soon enough that age isn’t a criteria when it comes to inspiring people.
Khanna meets our favourite icons and promises to put a smile on our bad days and make us laugh on worse ones. But most importantly, the conversations will make you think and say, “Oh, she is like me!” There’s a changemaker in all of us, and our Golden Girls are here to hold up the mirror for you.
In this episode, actor Vidya Balan and Khanna give us the dictionary definition of ‘easy-going’. There’s a lot of laughter and self-deprecation here. Balan opens up about how she got her big break after years of rejection. It was at an Enrique Iglesias concert just before he sang, “Hero“. The actor also talks about her bigger diet regimes that didn’t exactly pan out as she expected and how even more unexpectedly she met her husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur.
