“Home is where I build my career and also find peace”
Patisserie chef Guntas Sethi on building a better life, starting with a belly full of sweet treats
The lockdown had us tinkering with new cooking techniques — remember banana bread and dalgona coffee? While some of those gastronomic explorations barely passed the taste test, for patisserie chef Guntas Sethi, it proved to be the catalyst for a whole new career.
The Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef would experiment with new recipes every day, roping in her family too. After sharing some photos on social media, the requests began pouring in. “Recipe, please.”
“Home is where I found a space to build my career and be creative,” Sethi tells Tweak India. In Better Life with Lodha, we go behind the scenes into the private worlds of accomplished women whose every day might look different from ours and each others’, but are united by their need for a space to call their own.
After a day full of arm workouts from whipping cream and creating frosting-covered dreams, Sethi needs some personal time. But when you live with a big family, we all know how tough it can be to find a quiet space to unwind.
You’ll find her hunched over a colouring book, calling it “therapeutic”. She adds, “I also love taking a walk. There are so many lovely spaces around Lodha Evoq to sit and enjoy doing nothing.”

Given its location in New Cuffe Parade, Lodha Evoq serves as a quiet oasis in a bustling city while being central enough to easily access all your favourite spots around town.
Its world-class amenities, like designer swimming pools, indoor games room and a world-class gym, are enhanced by pockets of lush greenery that nourish the mind, body and soul.

So, what does building a better life look like for Sethi? Physical and mental health is equally important, and she tips her hat to therapy for keeping her grounded. Most importantly, she values having a supportive community. “At the end of the day, being connected to the people that truly matter, helps me build a better life.”
