The shortcut to getting your kids to read (without a fuss)
The Tweak India Children’s Bookclub announces its first subscription box
The next time a Fortune 500 CEO needs a master negotiator to wear down the opposition and close a particularly difficult deal, he should call for back-up from the best in the business: moms. Known for their powers of persuasion (which include ‘The Big-Eyes Stare’). Their resilience in the face of a cranky opposition. Their ability to change tactics, sometimes waving the stick, other times offering delicious gajar ka halwa. No MBA school can teach you what negotiating a reduction in screen time with a smartypants five-year-old does. But moms, we know you’re dangerously close to burning out. After two years of home-schooling and more looming on the horizon, it’s tough to keep kids engaged and entertained without resorting to the iPad. So we thought of a helpful solution: The Tweak India children’s subscription box, the first offering from the Tweak India Children’s Book Club.
This one is crafted for kids aged 5-8, in association with our friends at The Nestery, and it’s designed to spark creativity, foster family bonding and turn your little one into a reader. The book we’re kicking off with comes from none other than everyone’s favourite author (and Tweak India’s patron saint, as we say) Sudha Murty.
Called How The Earth Got Its Beauty, the book is written in easy-to-understand language, and features enchanting illustrations that will keep your child’s nose glued to the pages, as they gaze at snow-capped mountains and mentally float down mighty rivers. This book will stimulate an appreciation for nature and the beauty that exists all around us. Use the recycled newspaper pencils and plantable notebook from Green Footprint to scratch that itch.
The box also features interactive games from Chalk and Chuckles and Elemeno, aimed at building storytelling skills. Every reader needs yummy snacks, and ours come from Yum Earth and Slurrp Farm. Rounding up the offering are face masks from Nirvana Being and a children’s body wash from Cocomo Naturals.
