5 Minute Facial – This face wash is made using just 2 kitchen staples
Smells good enough to eat (and you actually can)
It takes an entire Sunday afternoon to pull off a full-fledged Korean beauty routine at home. Squeezing in a professional facial means sitting through 30 minutes of traffic, on a good day. It only takes one second to decide to spend your day in bed instead (while replying to e-mails, of course).
No one really has the time to give their skin the much-needed TLC it requires. An oily T-zone is not really a priority when there are other more slippery slopes to deal with. So, how does one manage to look radiant and “flawless” as they juggle work, home, and the unopened stack of mail that seems to have swallowed your dining table? You give yourself a 5 Minute Facial.
Through our video series — 5 Minute Facial — we try to make skincare as convenient, and quick as possible. The only two things you need are basic ingredients from your kitchen cabinet and all of five minutes.
This time around the 5 Minute Facials series shows you how to put together a replacement for probably the most frequently used skincare product – facewash or facial cleanser. This chemical-free substitute is made using just two ingredients – honey and lemon. Honey has anti-bacterial properties that helps deep-clean the face. Lemons on the other hand are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C that help achieve even toned skin. It also acts as a natural astringent that helps rid the face of any traces of oil. However, you need to make sure that you use nothing more than 2-3 drops of lemon juice as its acid base could cause skin irritation.
Ingredients for the 5 Minute Facial facewash
2 tbsp honey
3-4 drops of lemon juice
Application
- Use a bowl to combine both the ingredients and mix well.
- Once it forms a slightly runny paste, scoop it up with your fingers and rub it on your face just like you would with a face wash.
- Wash it off with cold water.
