Policy Statement

Tweak respects the privacy of all subscribers to Children’s Book Club (“Subscribers”). Tweak is committed to maintaining the privacy and security of personal information of the Subscribers and their respective children. Below, Tweak outlines its policy on the collection, storage and use of personal and other information.

Personal Information

  1. Tweak collects, uses, stores and processes personal information from the Subscribers (“Data”), and also share the Data with Third Parties (defined herein). This Data includes name, title, company, address, phone number, email address, and other details including unique identifiers of the Subscribers and their respective children. Questions and/or comments submitted by the Subscribers may also contain and/or include personal.
  2. Tweak collects, uses, stores and processes Data for the following purposes:
    • To enable the Subscribers, to download information about the Children’s Book Club and its services and utilize other features of the Children’s Book Club.
    • To provide book recommendations along with summaries with respect to the same.
    • To provide activity sheets related to books for the Subscriber’s children.
    •  To provide information with respect to availability of the recommended books and place where the same is / are available.
    • To provide information with respect to interactions with authors of the recommended books and Mrs. Twinkle Khanna.
    • To seek the Subscriber’s feedback.
    • To fulfill Tweak’s obligations under any agreement the Subscribers have with Tweak.
    • To process and respond to requests, improve Tweak’s operations, and communicate with Subscribers about Tweak’s products, services, and business.
    • To share the Data with third parties including but not limited to Crossword Bookstores Private Limited (“Crossword”) and Penguin Random House India (“Penguin”) (“Third Parties”) to enable them to use and process the Data to share promotions, information on books and store updates including to enable them to issue individual discount codes / coupon codes for purchase of recommended books by the Subscribers. 
    • To create a Whatsapp or digital online community to share announcements related to the book club, including responding to subscriber queries. 
  3. Tweak will not use or share the Data for direct marketing purposes. Due to the nature of the internet, Tweak may transmit Data to Tweak and/or its affiliates and/or other persons for purposes of collection, storage, processing, or because of server locations. However, the Third Parties to whom Tweak shares Data for the purposes mentioned in Clause C 2. (i) above, will be the Data Fiduciary qua the Subscribers with respect to the Data of the Subscribers shared by Tweak with such Third Parties, and such Third Parties shall be solely liable, obligated and responsible for complying with all the applicable law, rules, regulations etc. including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DP Act”), and such Third Parties shall be solely liable and responsible for all the obligations, liabilities and consequences  etc. for breach and/or non compliance by such Third Parties, of any of the applicable law, rules, regulations etc. including the DP Act, and Tweak will not be liable or responsible etc. for any breach and/or non compliance by such Third Parties.
  4. As required or permitted by law Tweak may collect, use, store, and disclose Data for security-related or law enforcement investigations, or in the course of cooperating with authorities or complying with legal requirements.
  5. Tweak may also anonymize, use, process, store, collect etc. the Data for historical, statistical and/or scientific purposes.
  6. If Subscribers visit Tweak’s Website and/or the Children’s’ Book Club and/or any part thereof and/or make any enquiry and/or ask any questions and/or post any comment, the same may also contain Data.  Accordingly, Tweak may have previously collected similar Data from Subscribers and other persons, and Tweak will be entitled to collect, use, store and/or process such Data.  By accessing and/or visiting and/or asking and/or posting and/or providing and/or submitting etc. any and all information, question, suggestion, comments, Data etc. by the Subscribers, the Subscribers consent to the terms of this Tweak’s privacy policy and the collection, use, storage and process of Data and also previously collected information and Data. 

Non-Personal Information 

Tweak’s Website and the Children’s Book Club may automatically collect information sent by the Subscriber’s web browser.  This can include the Subscriber’s domain name (the part after the @ in the Subscriber’s email address) and possibly the Subscriber’s username (the part before the @). Other examples of information collected by Tweak’s server include the Subscriber’s internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, platform, average time spent on Tweak’s website, pages viewed, information searched for, access times, websites visited before and after Tweak’s site, and other relevant statistics. The amount of information sent depends on the Subscriber’s browser settings, Subscriber may refer to their browser to learn what information it sends.

Information Placed on Subscriber’s Computer

  1. Tweak may store certain information, such as cookies, on the Subscriber’s computer when the Subscriber visits Tweak’s website, Cookies are small pieces of data that a website transfers to a visitor’s hard drive for record-keeping purposes. This information makes it easier for the Subscriber to use Tweak’s website and ensures the Subscriber does not have to re-enter their details each time they visit.
  2. The Subscriber can choose to erase of block this information from their computer by adjusting their browser settings. However, doing so may limit the range of features available on Tweak’s website. Tweak uses cookies to provide a personalized experience, allowing Subscribers to use the website without logging in each time, auto-populating email forms, making improvements, and better tailoring Tweak’s website to the Subscriber’s needs. Additionally, Tweak uses this information to verify that visitors meet the criteria required to process their requests.

Security

  1. Tweak has implemented technology and policies aimed at protecting the Subscriber’s privacy from unauthorized access and misuse. These measures are periodically reviewed to ensure their effectiveness.
  2. Data collected from the website and/or the Children’s Book Club will be retained for a period of two years.

Third Parties 

For the Subscriber’s convenience, Tweak’s web page may contain hyperlinks to other Tweak web pages and external websites. Additionally, the Subscriber may have accessed Tweak’s website through a link from another site. Tweak is not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other websites, even if the Subscriber accesses them via links from Tweak’s website. Tweak cannot, does not and shall never, make any promises and/ or guarantees regarding data collection on hyperlinked pages or websites not owned by Tweak. Tweak recommends reviewing the privacy policy of each website the Subscribers visit or link from and contacting the owners or operators of those websites if the Subscribers have any concerns or questions.
