Ranveer Singh's favourite breakfast is the DIY version of Chocos
The man behind the ‘mush’ shares the recipe, and it’s so easy
Rarely do we get time for a full-fledged morning meal. It’s usually an apple to-go or cereal from a box. But Chef Mohit Savargaonkar, co-founder of Pod Supply, shows us how to make our own — far healthier — version of Chocos, stolen from Ranveer Singh.
“Ranveer is someone who tends to wake up a little cranky,” says Savargaonkar. We can relate. “He wants to eat something that makes him happy.” And watching this dish come together, we have no doubt it does.
The chef’s challenge was to make something that had a perfect balance of carbs, protein and sweetness, which would give his client that extra boost in the morning, especially in busy shoot days. His answer: mush.
The 5-minute recipe packs in fibre and energy via the goodness of oats, fixes your protein craving with eggs, and throws in antioxidants and micronutrients via berries, nuts and seeds.
Though Ranveer Singh doesn’t eat any fruits other than berries, Savargaonkar encourages you to throw in any seasonal produce that you like, from bananas and apples to chickoos and papaya. If the almond milk he uses doesn’t fit your budget, you could swap that for regular cow’s milk or soy milk.
Thanks to the chocolate flavour of the cacao powder, this is the perfect dish for working moms to whip up for themselves and their fussy eaters.
Just tell them it’s the secret to that famous Ranveer Singh energy.
