These snacks will keep you from turning into hangry Hulk at 4pm
Your anti-growl arsenal
What happens when you gather a bunch of hangry people under the same roof? We end up finding the best snacks that can make us feel human again. And that’s exactly what happens at the Tweak office. We bond over popped chips, polish off a pack of banana chips faster than you can blink, and fiercely guard our snack drawer.
Let’s face it: snacks are the unsung heroes of modern life. They fuel our Zoom calls, rescue us from awkward silences on long drives, and serve as peace offerings when the apologies feel too hard. But finding ones that are exciting, wholesome, and actually taste good? That’s always the real challenge. We want something that is clever, conscious, and cool enough to sit at our dining table (or our work desk, sofa, yoga mat…). We want to break away from boring biscuits and anonymous trail mixes to give ourselves okra crisps, millet laddus, quinoa puffs, and protein-packed granola.
Enter this list of Indian snack brands who are turning this beloved pastime into something to show off rather than to be sheepish about. So whether you’re a host looking for an easy (but impressive) way out, or just trying to survive your afternoon slump without spiralling into sugar, this list is your edible upgrade.
To Be Honest (TBH)
TBH is what happens when veggies go undercover as junk food and succeed. Their signature ‘Crunchies’ are vacuum-cooked, which retains the natural colour, flavour, and nutrients of vegetables while dialling down the oil. The Beetroot Crunchies are slightly earthy with a sweet finish, while the Sweet Potato version is wonderfully hearty. And don’t sleep on the Spiced Okra with Coriander (₹177 for a pack of three)—it’s crispy, flavourful, and nothing like the gummy bhindi of your childhood. The brand also claims that they’re high in fibre, gluten-free, and made with real vegetables, which makes them an ideal pick for mindful munchers.
Sweet Karam Coffee
Chennai-based Sweet Karam Coffee brings the best of Tamil Nadu to your snack shelf. The Madras Mixture (₹199) is a blend of crispy bits, curry leaves, roasted nuts, and just the right amount of spice—perfect with your evening filter coffee or a strong masala chai. Each bite carries the warmth of homemade snacks, with seasonings that feel comfortingly familiar. Their Thattai, a crispy rice flour disc with a hint of pepper, is so good it might spark a friendly office feud over the last piece. These are snacks with heritage, lovingly packaged for the modern world.
Natch
Plant-based and proudly Southeast Asian in spirit, Natch reimagines how you eat your mangoes. Their Thai Mango Slices (₹395) packed with chilli flavour, is a knockout—sweet, spicy, and bound to satisfy all your summer cravings. They’re the perfect crossover between familiar comfort and exotic edge. If you can’t eat a mango with your bare hands at your desk, and drinking mango juice seductively will send you to HR, these dried mango slices are a safe-for-work option.
Kari Kari
Inspired by izakaya culture, Kari Kari brings Japanese bar snacks to your doorstep. These are perfect to chug down your coffee with on an especially hectic day at work, until it’s acceptable to grab a drink. Or to lay out as aperitifs when you’re entertaining and want to order something other than paneer chilli. Kari Kari Wasabi (₹99), a mix of roasted rice crackers and wasabi peanuts, is quite filling and gives you a nice blast of heat up your nose. The label also says that it’s high in plant protein, and we think it makes a fun alternative to plain trail mixes.
Beyond Snack
If you thought banana chips peaked with the ones from your last Kerala trip, think again. Beyond Snack’s banana chips (₹240 for three) come in classic as well as masaledaar flavours. The Peri Peri variant is a spicy firecracker with smoky undertones and just enough zing to keep you coming back for more. On the other hand, the salted version keeps it simple, thin-cut and golden, which doesn’t coat your fingers in grease. These are made from the traditional and highly nutritious Nendran bananas, and that’s a fact to remember when you’re trying to make yourself feel better about devouring all of it by yourself.
The Theatre Project
For many of us, the best (and most painfully expensive) part about the theatre-going experience is the popcorn. The Theatre Project is bringing that experience home to you, at a slightly more digestible cost. It’s also giving the humble popcorn a gourmet glow-up with flavours like Sour Cream & Onion, Peri Peri, and Cheddar Cheese. But it is their Black Truffle & Pepper popcorn (₹225) that is truly unique, bringing punch as well as depth. Comes in a tin, so you can save some for later…if any of it is actually left.
Evolve Snacks
When you want to evolve beyond fried snacks without eating like a monk, Evolve Snacks steps in. Their Quinoa Puffs (₹90) are rich in protein, have more masala than your best friend’s dating life, and come with a lightness that makes it easy to down a whole packet guilt-free. They are ideal for lunchboxes, desk drawers, or late-night cravings—anytime your stomach says “yummy” and your conscience warns “healthy.”
WickedGud
If you’ve been on a quest for chips that don’t leave your fingers oily or your conscience heavy, WickedGud’s Popped Chips (₹21 for one) are your holy grail. These aren’t fried or baked—they’re popped using heat and pressure, which gives them that addictive crunch without the extra fat.
These come in a range of flavours such as Mast Masala, Dil Se Cheesy, Tomato Thumka, Amreekan Cream & Onion, and Perfect Pudina. Whether you like it spicy or prefer an umame flavour, there’s something for everyone. These are so light and airy that you may be tempted to polish off all the flavour packs in one go.
Munchilicious
For healthy early evening snacking when the 4pm hunger pangs start to create a ruckus, Munchilicious delivers. Their Dark Chocolate Granola (₹500/ 350gm) is low in sugar, high in good fats and will give you that satisfying chew. It’s a perfect decoy for a post-dinner sweet treat too—the chocolate, toasted nuts, and oat clusters will boost your mood and actually fill you up. Or for breakfast on the run; it’s great with milk, yoghurt, or can be eaten straight from the pack. No one’s judging because there’s nothing to judge here.
Millet Amma
Rooted in Kannadiga traditions, Millet Amma offers snacks that remind you of grandma’s kitchen. Their ragi, jowar, and bajra laddoos (₹1,007 for three jars) are subtly sweet, nutrient-dense, and made without refined sugar, offering a slow-release energy boost. If you don’t love laddoo as much as Poo does, they have khakras, cookies, lavash, and many other snacks to pick from.
