Introducing Spacelift with Twinkle Khanna, our new home makeover series
Including DIY to die for
Take a look at your ‘saved’ tab on Instagram. Is it dotted with photos of exotic gardens, dream bathrooms and designer furniture that makes you feel poor but hopeful? Does gazing at an unexpected paint choice in a Hong Kong penthouse drive the demons of anxiety away? Welcome friend, you’re officially addicted to palette porn. Before you gasp and clutch your pearls, please know that this is a no-judgement space. We’re card-carrying members of the same club, and you cannot convince us that an impromptu home makeover isn’t the answer to most of life’s problems. That’s why we launched our new series, SpaceLift with Twinkle Khanna. A gift to you, our aesthetically-obsessed audience, but also a place for us to live out our interior design fantasies (and adopt ideas from famous homes for a fraction of the cost).
“At Tweak, we’re big fans of creating beautiful spaces that are also functional, without creating a pothole in your bank account,” says Twinkle Khanna. “These spaces need to do more than just look good — they need to feel comfortable, work efficiently and adapt to your family’s changing requirements. So I’m putting my hard hat back on, to show you all my tips and tweaks to giving your home a quick makeover.”
In the first show of SpaceLift with Twinkle Khanna, we’re taking on “the most valuable real estate in any city home” — the balcony.
“This tiny strip performs so many functions, it could teach us a thing or two about multitasking,” Khanna explains. “It’s where we hang up our laundry, enjoy a cup of coffee at the beginning of the day or a drink to wind down, try our hands at gardening and spy on our neighbours, whether you use a pair of binoculars or just squint really hard.”
Learn as she mixes DIY art with upcycled decor crafted by local carpenters, throwing in a few online purchases for good measure. We’ve even thrown in a little tasty surprise at the end, but you’re going to have to watch the show to find out.
