#WhatsInYourDabba with Twinkle Khanna, Akshay Kumar, Malaika Arora and more
Beetroot tikki, avocado on toast and vegan noodles, coming right up
Like most Indians, our lives at Tweak India HQ revolve around an ancient sacred ritual of community and harmony: lunchtime. When the microwave queue is longer than the one at US immigration, when Savita didi’s methi aloo is pitted against Yousuf Chacha’s Lucknowi biryani, and when the only question on anybody’s mind is #WhatsInYourDabba.
Returning from our New Year festivities hungover and heavier by a few champagne kilos, we decided to bring the focus back to healthy, home-cooked meals with a little help from our celebrity friends.
Kicking off the #WhatsInYourDabba movement, Tweak India founder Twinkle Khanna shared her favourite healthy snack. Take a cue from her limited edition Vada Pav-ered T-shirt and swap out the batatawada with a healthier beetroot tikki.

Khanna nominated her husband Akshay Kumar, who gave us a peek into his notoriously healthy breakfast dabba.
“Eating clean is not an option but a way of life for me. Here’s a glimpse at what made me spring into action this morning,” he revealed to his Instagram followers, adding, “Sharing how you can also make my favourite avocado on toast and my chia pudding. It’s healthy, tasty, and keeps you full for hours, not to mention high in protein.”

Shikhar Dhawan loves a big breakfast almost as much as he loves sending cricket balls sailing past the stadium walls.
“To begin with I love my fruits, they give me all my natural sugars. In this case, I’m eating papaya and pineapple, pineapple being the fat burner,” he shared.
“Next, there’s baked beans for my protein and avocado toast which is good fat. A tasty masala uttapam with sambar which makes it a carb-loaded breakfast which keeps my energy up the whole day.”

An important part of clean living is cooking with local produce, and Sonali Bendre Behl used her #WhatsInYourDabba moment to tweak an old family favourite: Maharashtrian sabudana khichdi, but made with seasonal sweet potato.
“As they say, you are what you eat. And my mantra has always been to not measure my food… but instead, watch what I eat.”

Katrina Kaif used her #WhatsInYourDabba moment to share with us her healthy-eating mantra – “My mom has always told me that healthy eating should be a way of life and not a diet.”
The actor shared with us a sneak peek of her mid-morning snack – Idli with an assortment of accompaniments.
Sophie Choudry’s healthy cutlets can turn any lunch into a feast. “I’m not a vegetarian or vegan, but I am vegetarian at least twice a week and on those days this is one of my favourites!” she says.
The quinoa can easily be replaced with millet or amaranth, and that side salad itself makes a great snack.
Bhumi Pednekar’s mantra is simple: Eat well and right. Then there’s no fight. We would love to adapt that approach as well as get inspired by her simple yet wholesome dabba featuring chicken curry, and stir-fried mushroom.

Karela finally find its way into the #WhatsInYourDabba challenge via Tusshar Kapoor’s “healthy, vegetarian lunch”. But it sounds rather promising: Karela roasted in olive oil and then mixed with masala. We’d definitely try that.

Mallika Sherawat’s vegan dabba gives us enough inspiration to create that delicious looking nachos. Healthy snacks, anyone?
Designer and fashion entrepreneur Pernia Qureshi Gilani’s dabba is “yummy and satisfying” in equal measure. She is also challenging us to try two meals a day instead of three.
