5 easy ways to get fit
‘From couples that work out together, stay together’ to ‘carbs are not the enemy’, vegan bodybuilder Roshni Sanghvi’s tips will surprise you
‘Getting fit’ is probably the most common, yet most broken resolution on the 2nd of January every year. We’re so bogged down by all the tasks on our to-do lists that eating right gets relegated to the bottom when you have deadlines to meet, presentations to make and food to cook. Who has time to Crossfit, when you’re in corporate?
Bengaluru-based vegan bodybuilder Roshni Sanghvi shares the simple changes you can incorporate in your life so you can get fit, one step at a time. It all begins at home, according to Sanghvi, as she says it’s key for families to adopt healthier lifestyle changes together. Start by making healthy swaps in your diet (millet-based pizza anyone?) and make sure to keep an eye on deficiencies by introducing supplements in your diet, she advises.
Adopting veganism is another suggestion. Sanghvi cautions that the transition must never be made overnight, but slowly adopting a plant-based diet will ultimately help you get stronger. Of course, working out is crucial, as it releases the same happy hormone that your brain does when it’s in love. If the fact that she says carbs are good for you (as long as you choose the right ones) isn’t motivation enough — think about this— couples that work out together tend to be happier and have more chemistry than those who don’t. Must be all that dopamine.
