The TV shows you should be watching, according to your zodiac
Some cater to your personality quirks, others call on you to challenge them
Thanks to the streaming gods, there are more shows to watch than there is hair on our heads (thanks, monsoon). It’s now come to an overwhelming point where we don’t know what to start streaming. We’ll begin one comedy series and right as we hear the Netflix *da dummm* opening, we’ll start thinking about that docudrama that comes highly recommended from a friend.
Is it infidelity if I’m thinking about Dark while watching Modern Family? And just when we’ve managed to come close to finishing one show, there’s a content dump and another overload with at least two more shows touted as a ‘must-watch’.
We’ve tried different ways to cut through the clutter on our watchlist: picking what to watch based on our mood, challenged ourself to a little added reading by diving headfirst into the world of foreign-language films and TV shows, and escaped into fantasy lands when it all just become too much.
Now we turn to the stars to seek answers to our streaming woes. We channelled our inner clairvoyants and analysed the different zodiac personalities. After hours of staring through the very real and very serious ancient scrolls, we’ve found the best shows to watch according to your zodiac.
These are specifically chosen to entertain your dominant traits, indulge in your guilty pleasures and make you introspect about your lesser-than-ideal characteristics.

1/12 ![]() Photo credit: Still from 'The Politician'Aries: The PoliticianAries is not just the first astrological sign in the zodiac, these headstrong and ambitious achievers need to be number one in life as well. And they’ll do anything to get there with deep determination. The Politician, created by Ryan Murphy, is an over-the-top, hyperbolic showcase of an Aries’ ultimate playground. Payton Hobart (Ben Platt) has always known that he was born to be the US President and has carefully crafted each step of his life to get him there. We watch this fiercely ambitious and suave high schooler run for student body president to secure his spot at an Ivy League college, the next step towards becoming leader of the free world. The show has plenty of tongue-in-cheek moments about the “treacherous political landscape” of high school and other cut-throat teenage drama. Season 2 of the show takes it to a whole other level with public office. Let this show be your manual to take over the world but also a cautionary tale of the price you have to pay to get there. Watch on Netflix. 2/12 ![]() Taurus: The CrownStoic, materialistic and slightly stubborn – these are not only attributes of a Taurus but also idiosyncratic of English royalty in The Crown. The visuals exude splendour, luxury and the arts, all things to tickle all the Taurus’ senses and the morality, emotional courage and loyalty of the different characters will have you nodding along in agreement. The show, which will soon premiere its fourth season, centres around the British royal family and the many scandals and controversies that threatened to upend it over the years. Its upcoming season focuses on a young Princess Diana, probably the most beloved member of the ‘Firm’, as it came to be known. Watch on Netflix.
Gemini: Living with YourselfWhen it came to picking shows to watch according to your zodiac, this one was the easiest. There’s probably never been a better show for a Gemini than Living with Yourself. To put it simply and keep spoilers at a minimum, Paul Rudd plays a man who is down in the dumps, stuck in a rut in his professional and personal life. Out of desperation, he undergoes a shady high-tech procedure which claims to be able to solve all his problems. Instead, he’s split in two. There are two copies of the protagonist, just like a Gemini, that are similar but with just enough differences for Rudd’s copy to claim he’s the better version. What could be more Gemini than this? Watch on Netflix. Cancer: This is Us Cancer is the emotional ball of the zodiac. Empathetic but also a tad too sensitive at times. They love a show that’ll take them deep into the recesses of their emotional pit and cause an outpouring. Cue up This is Us, a show known to make you cry like a leaky faucet. A generational drama with more heartbreaking moments than we can count, This is Us focuses on the Pearsons family whose lives are chronicled across decades – from young parents in the 1980s to their three adult children in the present who are making their way through love and life. Keep the tissues handy. Watch on Disney+ Hotstar. Leo: SupernaturalLeos want to dominate and rule the world, much like Aries. But there are moments where Leos find themselves stuck because of their stubbornness and arrogance. Supernatural may seem like an odd pick but it’s actually the perfect show for a Leo to watch. You follow the, well, supernatural, paranormal and ghostly adventures of ghost and ghoul-hunting Winchester brothers as they travel across America. There are angels and demons along the way and so many twists and turns that it’ll keep up with the enthusiastic and passionate Leo. The Winchester brothers are caring and fiercely loyal, the brave-hearted heroes of their own narratives. Well, Chuck’s narratives (if you’ve seen the show, you know). Watch on Prime Video. Virgo: How to Get Away With MurderVirgos are perfectionists, and this show has got perfection in the form of Viola Davis. That is all you need. Alright, alright, there’s more. The show casts a diverse bunch of law students that get caught up in a murder case along with one of their professors. We’ve got strong leads that are meticulous in their work and execution of tasks, however dastardly they may be. They’re focused and pay great attention to detail. Of course, they’re trying to get away with murder after all. Their downfall is that their singular mission can alienate them from those around them. If you ever wanted to get away with murder, who else but a logical, practical and detail-oriented Virgo to get you through it? Watch on Netflix. Libra: Love is BlindThey may be known for their streaks of vanity, but did you know that the charming and sociable Libras are also very romantic? They thrive when coupled, unleashing their idealistic romantic ideas onto the unsuspecting world. They know just how to woo you, making them perfect marriage material, that is if you can get them to make a decision about it. Good luck with that. Lockdown is probably the longest they’ve gone without dating and having a potential love interest. Let Love is Blind fill that hole. The idea of a reality show may seem a bit tacky to a Libra, but it’s got all the potential love connections and drama to keep you entertained. The show is about a group of singles trying to make emotional connections and date from behind a wall, never seeing each other until after they’re engaged. Libras are all about free will and freedom to choose. Which is exactly what the women in this dating show get to do. It’s a much lighter watch than your regular tragicomedies and rom-coms. We know that you prefer high art and all things intellectual but you need to give your over-thinking brain a break as well. Watch on Netflix.
Scorpio: Paatal LokThey’re known for their magnetic and powerful personalities, intuitiveness and intensity but there’s a darkness that comes with it that they try to keep hidden. We say indulge it in the least harmful way by channelling it into your watchlist. Paatal Lok will satisfy your secretive, distrusting, jealous tendencies, keep your mind working and interest piqued. Your fondness for playing investigator is fulfilled with this show. As the story unfolds, we follow Delhi cop Hathiram Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat) as he investigates the attempted murder of a celebrated journalist. You watch on as he gets embroiled in a dark web of power play, political agenda, bureaucratic loopholes and more. Everything about this show, from its visuals to the story and score is dark, engaging and entertaining. Watch on Prime Video.
9/12 ![]() Photo credit: Daily ExpressSaggitarius: Travels with My FatherThe Sagittarius in your life probably has more destinations on her travel bucket list than underwear. You’ll see your spontaneity and bluntness (maybe too much at times) reflected in the father-son duo Michael and Jack Whitehall, respectively. The travel show features stand-up comedian Jack Whitehall travelling the world with his father Michael, a grumpy, aristocratic Englishman. Their dynamic and antics are adorable and hilarious. Vicariously fulfil your wanderlust as they travel across Southeast Asia and Europe; question your impatient tendencies while watching the same in Michael and let Jack make you laugh the entire way Watch it on Netflix 10/12 ![]() Capricorn: House MDCapricorns are all about no-nonsense hard work and practicality, almost to a fault. They’re very dedicated to whatever they’re working on but this kind of single-mindedness feeds the ego in a slightly ugly way. You’ll find bits of all your personality traits, faults and follies scattered in the characters of House MD. Genius and asocial diagnostician Dr Gregory House and his team solve the strange cases which come through Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. House is a rebel with controversial ideas and practices with his team often having to pick up the pieces as he flies through like a hurricane. Good thing for him that he mostly succeeds. You’ve got workaholic House surrounded by his worker bees who make their own rules and hustle through. Watch on Prime Video.
Aquarius: KiddingAn Aquarius is mostly known for her rebellious and anti-establishment ways, but we’re reaching out to the other side of their personality type. The eccentric, idealistic creative thinkers who want to make the world a better place. This show is going to give you that but with a slightly darker twist. Kidding has to be one of Jim Carrey’s best works. He plays Jeff Pickles, a Mr Rogers type beloved kids TV show host who has to the grieve the loss of one of his children. How does a man who is known for his kindness, wisdom and optimism come to terms with the darkness of life as he goes through a downward spiral? We see it unfold and transform his children’s show as well. There are a lot of existential questions you’ll be faced with through this show. And don’t worry, Mr Pickles has his rage against the machine moment to satisfy your inner rebel. Watch on Disney+ Hotstar. Pisces: Unbreakable Kimmy SchmidtOh Pisces, you loveable child. You want a quick escape into a fantasy world, and who would blame you? Kimmy Schmidt is practically your soul sister with her kind nature, playfulness, empathy and enough imagination to bring a backpack to life (you’ll understand when you watch the show). For 15 years, our show’s protagonist was kidnapped and kept in a bunker as part of a doomsday cult. Once rescued, she doesn’t let it define her or bring her down. She reclaims her life, starting over in New York with a hilarious struggling actor as a roommate, Titus. Her never-say-die attitude and sunny disposition along with Titus’ antics will have you smiling all the way through. As the show’s opening sequence rightly says, “females are strong as hell.” Did we mention it was created by Tina Fey? Watch on Netflix. |
